- Kate M. Sandlin is a magistrate judge in the DeKalb County Magistrate Court in Georgia, serving since 2025, with a background in public defense, complex criminal trials, and trial advocacy teaching

- Before joining the bench, Judge Sandlin was a senior trial attorney with the DeKalb County Public Defender’s Office, where she supervised attorneys, investigators, and support staff.
- She is also the Faculty Advisor for the Emory Law School Mock Trial Program and teaches trial advocacy through Emory Law’s Kessler-Eidson Program for Trial Techniques
