### Professional career

- Associate Judge of the Northern Mariana Islands Superior Court, serving since 2003 with a term ending June 19, 2027
- In 2023, Govendo initially planned to retire in June 2024 but later rescinded that decision in a letter to CNMI Chief Justice Alexandro Castro, stating he felt obligated to serve out his term

- Govendo has been on the CNMI Superior Court bench since June 20, 2003, appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate.
- In October 2023, he announced he would not retire in June 2024 after all, citing a duty to finish his term
- In November 2020, he was retained in a retention election with 80% of the vote.
