## Biography

### Professional career

- On December 28, 2023, Governor Tate Reeves appointed McDaniel to fill the vacancy created by the death of County Court and Youth Court Judge Thomas Broome
- Retired Mississippi County Court Judge who returned to the bench in 2023 as a Rankin County Youth Court Judge by gubernatorial appointment
- Flowood Municipal Court Judge (1995–1997)

- McDaniel had previously held the role of a special judge since April 20, 2023, assisting after Judge Broome’s illness
- His one-year term began January 1, 2024, and will end January 5, 2025.
- He will not seek election in the November 2024 special election for the Place 2 judgeship.
- Rankin County Court from September 1, 1997, to September 30, 2021, appointed by former Governor Kirk Fordice.
- Outside the courtroom, he enjoys singing with the Mississippi Chorus and Lakeside Presbyterian Church
- He also held leadership roles in the Conference of County Court Judges and the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance
