Alabama Rule of Criminal Procedure 9.4 permits televising, photographing, or radio broadcasting of judicial proceedings only as provided by Alabama judicial ethics canons, law, or another court rule.

Evidence excerpt: The taking of television pictures or other photographs in or of the courtroom during the progress of judicial proceedings or the radio broadcasting of judicial proceedings may be permitted as provided in Canon 3(A)(7) and (7B), Canons of Judicial Ethics, promulgated by the Alabama Supreme Court, or as otherwise may be permitted by law or other rule of court.

- Circuit Judge for Alabama’s 5th Judicial Circuit, serving in Dadeville, AL, and sworn in on January 17, 2023
- Adjunct professor at Carson‐Newman University (2021–2023)
- Prosecutor for the 5th Judicial Circuit for six years (2017–2023)
- Private practice attorney at The Hall Law Firm (2013–2016)
- Law clerk to the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals (2012)
- Circuit Judge, 5th Judicial Circuit (Randolph, Chambers, Macon, and Tallapoosa counties)

### Education

- J.D. from the Jones School of Law (2013), a B.A. from Faulkner University (2010), and an A.S. from Central Alabama Community College (2007)

### Additional information

- In November 2024, Judge Hall recused himself from the high‐profile Dadeville “Sweet 16” shooting case, a tragic April 2023 incident that killed four people and injured 25
- Captain of the Dadeville Volunteer Fire Department (2006–2018)
- The case involved multiple charges, including reckless murder and first‐degree assault, and was reassigned to Judge William Whorton
- Upon taking the bench, Hall said he was “honored to have been selected for this position” and committed to ensuring “fairness and respect” for all parties, while honoring the legacy of retiring Judge Ray Martin
