- On March 7, 2024, the General Assembly unanimously approved Lewis’s appointment, following bipartisan support from both the Senate and House Courts of Justice Committees
- Formally invested in a ceremony in Accomack County on April 22, 2024, with outgoing Judge Revell Lewis passing the gavel to Lewis
- Lynwood W. Lewis Jr. is a retired Virginia state legislator and lawyer who was appointed in March 2024 by the Virginia General Assembly as the Circuit Court Judge for Accomack and Northampton counties on Virginia’s Eastern Shore
