### Professional career

- Assistant State’s Attorney in the Harford County State’s Attorney’s Office, later serving as Supervisor of the District Court Division from 2000 to 2012 (1982–2012)
- Associate Judge of the Harford County Circuit Court in Maryland’s Third Judicial Circuit, appointed by Governor Martin J. O’Malley in 2011
- Law clerk to Judge Audrey E. Melbourne, Prince George’s County Circuit Court (1981–82)
- Perry Bowen, a former Calvert County Circuit Court judge
