## Biography

### Professional career

- Judge Mark Lucraft KC was the Recorder of London who led the Central Criminal Court proceedings in Rex v Mark Gordon and Constance Marten
- Charges: Gross negligence manslaughter and causing/allowing the death of their daughter, alongside earlier convictions for concealing the birth of a child and perverting the course of justice

- Outcome: On 15 September 2025, Judge Lucraft sentenced both Gordon and Marten to 14 years in prison for gross negligence manslaughter
- He managed the trial, directed the jury, and delivered the sentencing remarks in September 2025
