- On January 22, 2025, the NJ Courts issued an order designating Judge Ali as the Acting Assignment Judge for Essex County Vicinage 5, amending the 2024–2025
- Acting Assignment Judge for Essex County Vicinage 5, effective immediately until further order, in place of the regular Assignment Judge
- The Criminal Presiding Judge for Essex County (Vicinage 5) in the New Jersey Superior Court and is currently designated as Acting Assignment Judge in the event the regular Assignment Judge is unavailable
