### Professional career

- Assistant Judge Mark Sabitt is a long‐time Oregon attorney and judge, currently serving as an Assistant Judge in the Eugene, Oregon Municipal Court
- Current position: Assistant Judge, Eugene Municipal Court, Oregon
- Criminal: for ~20 years, defended capital cases under a contract with the State of Oregon; served on the Criminal Justice Act Panel for the U.S. District Court for Oregon for ~25 years

- While not a judge in high‐profile cases, Sabitt has been recognized in media for his role as Kip Kinkel’s trial lawyer in the 1998 Oregon capital murder and attempted murder case, where he and co‐counsel negotiated a plea agreement that allowed the court to determine sentencing
