- Before joining the bench, Brennan served on the Delaware County Council from 2002 to 2006, where she oversaw areas such as public safety, voter registration, the Recorder of Deeds, parks and recreation, and human services Prior to that, she was a Magisterial District Justice in Upper Darby Township for nearly nine years, and joined the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s Intergovernmental Task Force to Study the District Justice System She also worked in private legal practice (1991–2002) and as an Assistant Public Defender (1987–1991)
- Judge Brennan presides over cases in the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas, a general trial court in Pennsylvania
- Brennan has served on the Upper Darby School Board, Delaware County Retirement Board, and as a liaison between the County Council and the Community Action Committee
