## Biography

### Professional career

- Magistrate judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, appointed August 12, 2024, and the first Ethiopian‐American judge on the court
- 16 years as managing attorney of The Law Office of Meti Abebe, LLC

### Education

- B.A. in Psychology from George Washington University, active in the International Students and African Students Associations
- She later received her J.D. from Howard University School of Law, with honors in Administrative Law and Problems of World Order, and participated in the International Law Society

- Service as Guardian ad Litem and counsel for parents and foster parents in Family Court
