## Biography

### Professional career

- Retired and senior judge of the Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit in Georgia, serving on the bench from 2001 until his retirement at the end of 2018, after which he assumed senior status
- He became Chief Judge of the Blue Ridge Circuit in January 2013
- 1997–2001: Juvenile Court Judge, Cherokee County, Georgia
- As of now, Judge Harris holds senior status on the Blue Ridge Circuit and continues to participate in mediation and legal education
- He also held the role of a law clerk to Court of Appeals Judge Marion T. Pope

- After retiring in December 2018, he continued as a senior judge and also serves as a mediator
- Harris was re‐elected in 2010 and 2014 without opposition.
- Before joining the judiciary, Harris practiced law for 14 years
- representing clients in all levels of Georgia courts, the U.S. District Court, and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.
