## Biography

### Professional career

- The current presiding judge of the Edmonds Municipal Court in Washington, appointed in May 2024 and sworn in July 2024, serving the remainder of a term ending December 31, 2025
- He succeeded former judge Whitney Rivera, who was appointed to the Snohomish County Superior Court

- Weiss will serve until the end of Rivera’s term in 2025, after which he must run for election if he seeks to continue.
- He also co‐founded FIRST Legal Clinic in 2019, providing pro bono representation to pregnant individuals and new parents at risk of child removal by Child Protective Services.
- handling juvenile dependency, criminal defense, family law, protection orders, civil litigation, and administrative law.
- Neil Weiss presides over the Edmonds Municipal Court, which handles misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor criminal cases, traffic and parking infractions, and photo enforcement citations for the City of Edmonds.
