Scope: statewide

Alabama Rule of Criminal Procedure 9.4 permits televising, photographing, or radio broadcasting of judicial proceedings only as provided by Alabama judicial ethics canons, law, or another court rule.

Evidence excerpt: The taking of television pictures or other photographs in or of the courtroom during the progress of judicial proceedings or the radio broadcasting of judicial proceedings may be permitted as provided in Canon 3(A)(7) and (7B), Canons of Judicial Ethics, promulgated by the Alabama Supreme Court, or as otherwise may be permitted by law or other rule of court.

### Professional career

- Circuit Judge: On July 18, 2022, Governor Ivey appointed him to the new Circuit Judge (Place 8) position, the first such seat added to the 23rd Judicial Circuit since 2011 23rd Judicial Circuit
- Elected: Won the 2020 Madison County District Judge (Place 1) election 23rd
- District Court Judge: Appointed by Governor Kay Ivey on January 18, 2019 to the Madison County District Court (Place 1) 23rd
- Judge Tuten opened his law practice in Huntsville, AL in 1996
- Circuit Court Judge for Place 8 in Alabama’s 23rd Judicial Circuit, serving Madison County 23rd
