- Born in Los Angeles, California, in 1957, Spinuzzi joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1980 and served through the Persian Gulf War, including deployments to multiple countries such as Okinawa, Korea, Japan, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, Spain, and Germany He left the Marine Corps in 1993 and joined the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office in 1994, serving in various roles for nearly 29 years before his judicial appointment
