- Richard A. Slaby (December 11, 1941 – May 19, 2025) was a distinguished judge in Georgia’s Richmond County State Court, serving from 1997 until his retirement in 2017, and later as a senior judge through 2022
- Associate Judge, Juvenile Court, Richmond County (1980–1997)

### Education

- University of Georgia in — J.D. (1965)

- After retirement, he continued in senior judge status until 2022
- Notable roles: Chief Judge (2010–2017), past president, Georgia Council of State Court Judges
- In July 1997, Governor Zell Miller appointed him to the Richmond County State Court, where he served until his retirement on July 31, 2017.

- Before his judicial appointments, Slaby practiced law in Augusta, Georgia, through Jolles & Slaby, Professional Corporation
