- The Presiding Judge of the 13th Judicial Circuit Court of Virginia, covering the City of Richmond, elected by the Virginia General Assembly in March 2022
- 2007–2022: Judge, 13th Judicial District Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court
- 2000–2007: Deputy Attorney General, Virginia Office of the Attorney General
- 1999–2000: Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, Eastern District of Virginia (Project Exile)
- 1998–1999: Assistant Attorney General, Virginia Attorney General’s Office
- 1994–1998: Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney, Chesapeake Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office
