- Tidwell completed studies at the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 2002 as a Scholar Merit Award Recipient.
- Legal Career: Before becoming a judge, he worked over seven years as an insurance attorney, including trial counsel for two of the largest U.S. insurance companies.
