## Biography

### Professional career

- Appointed July 5, 2017 by Governor Charlie Baker, Singh is an Associate Justice of the Massachusetts Appeals Court, the state’s intermediate appellate court
- Sabita Singh is an Associate Justice of the Massachusetts Appeals Court, appointed in 2017 by Governor Charlie Baker, with a career spanning public service, prosecution, and judicial leadership
- First Justice, Concord District Court (2014–2017) — Led the court before her appointment to the Appeals Court
- Massachusetts District Court (2006–2014) — Appointed Associate Justice, later serving in the Appellate Division
- She is recognized as the first South Asian judge in the New England region, noted for her work in human trafficking prosecution and youth crime prevention, and for her disciplined, public-minded approach to justice

### Additional information

- B.A. in Administration of Justice from Pennsylvania State University in 1987, and a J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 1990, where she represented her school on the Craven Constitutional Law and Jessup International Law moot court teams.
- After law school, she clerked for justices of the Massachusetts Superior Court
- Singh has been Past President of the North American South Asian Bar Association and the South Asian Bar Association of Greater Boston.
- She has also taught at law schools, engaged in pro bono work, and served on numerous court committees
