### Professional career

- He holds degrees in Civil Engineering and Land Surveying from Southern Polytechnic State University and an Associate’s degree in Wildlife Technology from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College

- The Probate Judge for Gilmer County, Georgia, serving since 2017, and in April 2025 was elected president of the Council of Probate Court Judges of Georgia
- On May 1, 2025, Chastain became the 40th president of the Council of Probate Court Judges of Georgia, a statewide body that supports probate judges and promotes professional development
- In 2024, he was named Outstanding Probate Judge of the Year by his colleagues
- Vice President/Operations Manager at Chastain and Associates, P.C. (2002–2009)
- He has held multiple leadership roles in the Council, including president‐elect, vice president, chair of the Technology Committee, and member of the Legislative Committee.
