- Shelia J. Thompson is the Republican Party’s Chief Judge of the Walker County Magistrate Court in Georgia, serving since 2011 and re‐elected in both 2016 and 2024
- The Chief Judge of the Walker County Magistrate Court, a local trial court in Georgia
- To serve as a Georgia Magistrate Court judge, candidates must be county residents for at least one year, be at least 25 years old, and have a high school diploma or equivalent

- Thompson has been recognized for her long service: in 2023, she and fellow Judge Jerry Day received commendation from the Council of Magistrate Court Judges for 40 years of service since the creation of Magistrate Court in 1983
