### Professional career

- Since 2020, Judge Barnes has held the role of a Magistrate Judge in the Fulton County Magistrate Court
- She also served as an in-house insurance defense attorney, clerked for then–Presiding Justice Robert Benham of the Georgia Supreme Court, and taught accounting and tax courses at local universities
- Seasoned legal professional and Magistrate Judge for the Fulton County Magistrate Court in Atlanta, Georgia, with over three decades of experience in law, accounting, and community service

- She has received recognition including the National Conference of Women’s Bar Associations Public Service Award (2016) and the National Drifters, Inc.
- Before her judicial appointment, Judge Barnes spent nearly 15 years in the Office of the City of Atlanta Solicitor as a prosecutor and Senior Assistant Solicitor.
