## Biography

### Professional career

- Chief Judge Stacy Y. Johnson is the elected Probate Court Judge for Richmond County, Georgia, and the first African American woman to hold that position, serving since November 2024
- She also served as an attorney at FRAILS & WILSON LLC (2016–2025) and held various legal and administrative roles

### Education

- J.D. cum laude from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University and passed both Georgia and Texas bar exams.

- Before her election, she held the role of Richmond County Probate Court County Administrator (2023), assisting families in estate administration and guardianship matters.
- Johnson’s legal career began with an internship in 2007 with the late Ed Tarver.
