### Professional career

- “Sam” Scheele is an Indiana Court of Appeals judge for the 3rd (northern) District, appointed in December 2024 by Governor Eric Holcomb and taking office January 8, 2025
- Early Career: 1996–1997 legal fellowship in Germany, including externship with the German Ministry of Justice
