## Biography

### Professional career

- Before her judicial role, she held the role of a Family Court Commissioner (2013–2015) and was a practicing attorney since 1989
- Associate Circuit Judge Susan E. Long of Missouri’s 16th Judicial Circuit, Division 34, announced her retirement effective July 3, 2026
- Appointed in November 2015 by then‐Governor Jay Nixon as the first Associate Circuit Judge of Division 34, based in Independence, Missouri
- Had joined the 16th Circuit in 2013 when the court en banc named her a Family Court Commissioner

- B.A. in English from the University of Missouri–Kansas City (1987) and her J.D. from UMKC School of Law (1989)
