- Tanisa L. Jeffers is the current Justice of the Peace for Precinct 5 in , serving since January 1, 2025, and re‐elected in the March 3, 2026 Democratic primary
- Election: Elected Justice of the Peace, Precinct 5, in November 2024 ; re‐elected in the March 3, 2026 Democratic primary
- Austin Municipal Court Substitute Associate Judge (2018), later Night Court Magistration Judge
- Certified mediator; served as Travis County Drug Court Defense Attorney (2014–2018)
- Worked for the Texas Office of Attorney General’s Crime Victims’ Compensation Program
- She has stated that her court will give voice to mentally ill defendants and victims, and will work to reduce disproportionate impacts on African Americans and Latinos in the criminal justice system
