Scope: statewide

Electronic media and still-photography coverage is allowed in Florida public trial and appellate proceedings under Rule 2.450's equipment and conduct standards, always subject to the presiding judge's control of decorum, distractions, and fair administration.

Evidence excerpt: Subject at all times to the authority of the presiding judge to: (i) control the conduct of proceedings before the court; (ii) ensure decorum and prevent distractions; and (iii) ensure the fair administration of justice in the pending cause, electronic media and still photography coverage of public judicial proceedings in the appellate and trial courts of this state shall be allowed

## Biography

### Professional career

- After relocating to Bradford County in 2013, Davis continued in private practice and held the role of in-house counsel for Tatum Brothers Lumber Company.
- Judge D. Tatum Davis serves on the Bradford County Court within the Eighth Judicial Circuit of Florida
- All communications with Judge Davis’ office must comply with the Code of Judicial Conduct, prohibiting ex parte communications
- Before assuming the bench, Davis served as an associate at Hand Arendall LLC in Birmingham, Alabama

### Education

- Raised in Bradford County, Florida, Davis attended Bradford High School, obtained a B.A. in political science from the University of Florida in 2008, and completed a J.D. at Samford University, Cumberland School of Law, in 2012.

### Additional information

- Elected to the bench on November 8, 2016 and has presided over county court matters, including Mental Health Court and Shelter Hearings.
- focusing on complex civil litigation.
- During law school, Davis was active as a class representative, student body vice-president, member of the National Moot Court Team, and a Legal Writing Teaching Fellow, receiving awards for trial advocacy and professional responsibility
