## Biography

### Professional career

- Nonpartisan judge in Department 45 of the King County Superior Court in Washington, appointed in May 2026 to replace Judge Jim Rogers
- Private Practice: Litigated complex commercial and securities fraud cases at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in Seattle
- Other Roles: Judge pro tempore in King County, Snohomish County, and Edmonds Municipal Courts

- B.A. from Swarthmore College and J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.

### Additional information

- Governor Bob Ferguson appointed Scheinman on April 15, 2026, to fill the vacancy created by Judge Jim Rogers’ retirement.
- Sworn in May 1, 2026.
- Public Defender (16 years): Represented indigent clients in misdemeanor, felony, and mental health cases; tried over 35 jury cases and dozens of bench trials.
- Scheinman is an avid bicycle commuter, volunteers with the Cascade Bicycle Club, and enjoys birdwatching and exploring King County neighborhoods.
