### Professional career

- Judge, Michigan First District Court of Appeals — Appointed by former Governor Rick Snyder in 2017; re-elected in 2018 and 2022
- 2014–2017: Judge, Wayne County Circuit Court (3rd Circuit Court of Michigan)
- Pre-2014: Chief of the Criminal Justice Bureau, Michigan Department of Attorney General; previously Assistant Attorney General and head of the Criminal Division
- Judge of the Michigan First District Court of Appeals and the Vice-Chairperson of the Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission
- He also teaches constitutional law and criminal law and procedure as an adjunct professor
