### Professional career

- Since July 1, 2026, Judge O’Connell has been Presiding Judge of Montgomery County Common Pleas Court, elected by a majority vote of all sixteen judges
- 2006–present: General Division Judge, Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas
- Timothy N. O’Connell is a General Division Judge of the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas in Dayton, Ohio, elected in 2006 and re‐elected in 2012, and as of July 1, 2026, serves as the Presiding Judge of the court

- In this role, he provides administrative supervision over the General Division, Juvenile Division, Domestic Relations Division, and Probate Division.
- He also presides over Mental Health Court, a specialized docket for individuals with serious mental illnesses
