### Professional career

- Sir Thomas Wood, also spelled Wode, was an English landowner, lawyer, administrator, and politician who became Chief Justice of the Court of Common Pleas in 1500
- Appointed a King’s Serjeant in 1488, puisne justice in 1495, and Chief Justice in 1500
- Thomas Wood, Jr. was a former Lycoming County President Judge in Pennsylvania
- Trained at the Middle Temple, held the role of counsel for Winchester College, JP for Berkshire, and later for the Western Circuit
- Other individuals with the name include Judge Thomas H. Wood Sr. of Virginia, who served on the Staunton and Augusta County General District Court and later as Chief Judge of the 25th Judicial Circuit, and Timothy D. Wood, Presiding Judge of Montgomery County Domestic Relations Court in Ohio
