## Biography

### Professional career

- Key assignments: Presiding judge for the Mental Health Court session (since 2010) and presiding justice for the Boston Outpatient Assisted Treatment Program
- The Chief Justice of the Boston Municipal Court, appointed to the role for a five‐year term starting January 1, 2024, succeeding Chief Justice Roberto Ronquillo Jr
- Named Chief Justice by Trial Court Chief Justice Jeffrey A. Locke on December 18, 2023, in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws c.211B,.5
- Before joining the court, Lyons worked in the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office from 1993 to 2003, rising to head the Sexual Assault Unit, and previously held the role of an Assistant District Attorney in Norfolk County and as a victim witness advocate.
- Lyons expressed gratitude to Chief Justice Locke, incoming Trial Court Chief Justice Heidi Brieger, and Court Administrator Thomas Ambrosino for their trust
