### Professional career

- Her work included prosecuting complex financial crimes and serving as Deputy Director of the NJ Office of Government Integrity and Chief Counsel in the DCJ Bureau of Fiscal Oversight
- She held the role of an Assistant Prosecutor in the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, followed by roles as Deputy Attorney General and Assistant Attorney General in the Division of Criminal Justice (DCJ) within the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office

### Education

- Juris Doctor (JD) from Temple University Beasley School of Law and a Bachelor’s degree in African-American Studies from the University of Pennsylvania.

### Additional information

- From 2018 to 2022, she was New Jersey’s Insurance Fraud Prosecutor, supervising a staff of over 100 investigators and prosecutors handling all types of insurance fraud, including health care, auto, Medicaid, disability, and workers’ compensation cases
- Before her judicial appointment, Thompson had a distinguished career in criminal justice spanning more than three decades.
- She continues to contribute to legal education as adjunct faculty at The College of New Jersey, teaching courses in Academic Writing and Introduction to Criminology
