Alabama Rule of Criminal Procedure 9.4 permits televising, photographing, or radio broadcasting of judicial proceedings only as provided by Alabama judicial ethics canons, law, or another court rule.

Evidence excerpt: The taking of television pictures or other photographs in or of the courtroom during the progress of judicial proceedings or the radio broadcasting of judicial proceedings may be permitted as provided in Canon 3(A)(7) and (7B), Canons of Judicial Ethics, promulgated by the Alabama Supreme Court, or as otherwise may be permitted by law or other rule of court.

### Professional career

- Appointed Mobile County, Alabama Circuit Judge, sworn in August 25, 2023, as the first Black circuit judge in the county in over 15 years
- Other Roles — She has served as legal adviser to the Mobile Police Department, as an associate in a civil law firm, and as municipal judge for Prichard, Alabama

- Appointed by Alabama Governor Kay Ivey in June 2023 to fill the seat vacated by the sudden death of Judge James Patterson
- District Court Judge — Appointed in 1999 by then-Governor Don Siegelman, she presided over bond hearings, preliminary hearings, misdemeanor trials, and civil matters
- Davis graduated from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law in 1987, with prior degrees from the University of Alabama and Bishop State Community College
- Federal Prosecutor — For 21 years, she served in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Alabama, holding roles such as Chief of the Criminal Division, Senior Litigation Counsel, Diversity Committee Chair, and District Election Officer
- Judge Davis has been active in community outreach, including public service announcements and voter engagement during her re-election campaign
