## Biography

### Professional career

- Appointed by Governor Charles Baker, Justice Henry joined the Massachusetts Appeals Court on December 22, 2015
- From 2011 until her judicial appointment, Henry was Senior Staff Attorney and Youth Initiative Director at Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders (GLAD)
- Early in her Foley Hoag career, she completed a four‐month rotation in the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office
- Also an adjunct professor at Boston University School of Law, teaching the Judicial Externship Program
- She became an associate and later a partner at Foley Hoag LLP
- She concluded her private practice as co‐deputy coordinator of the Litigation Department

- In 1994, Henry joined Crosby, Heafey, Roche & May PC in Oakland, California, then moved to Boston in 1996
- Justice Henry graduated cum laude from Wellesley College in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in Economics, and summa cum laude from Boston University School of Law in 1993, where she held the role of projects editor of the American Journal of Law & Medicine and won the American Jurisprudence Award for her Corporations course
- She clerked for Vermont Supreme Court Justice Denise Johnson after law school
- focusing on intellectual property, commercial litigation, and product liability cases
- In that role, she led public policy advocacy, education, and strategic litigation in New England and nationally, including work on the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case striking down Section 3 of the federal Defense of Marriage Act and securing equal marriage rights for same‐sex couples
