### Professional career

- William “Bill” Grady Hamrick III is the appointed Judge of Georgia’s Statewide Business Court, serving since September 26, 2022, after a long career in state government and the judiciary
- Before becoming Business Court Judge, Hamrick held the role of a Superior Court Judge in the Coweta Circuit from 2012 to 2022, appointed by then-Governor Nathan Deal.

- Hamrick was appointed by Governor Brian Kemp on August 3, 2022, confirmed by the Georgia Legislature on September 14, 2022, and sworn in on September 26, 2022.
- Prior to that, he was a Georgia State Senator for the 30th District (Carroll, Douglas, and Paulding Counties) from 2000 to 2012.
- He succeeded Judge Walt Davis and presides over the Georgia Statewide Business Court, a trial-level court with statewide jurisdiction handling business disputes across diverse industries
- In the Senate, he chaired the Judiciary, Banking and Financial Institutions, and Higher Education committees, and served on the Ethics and Public Safety Committees
