public transportation is very limited to this location. It is recommended that court visitors drive. Bus service does offer routes close to the correctional facility and will drop off at a major street but after that you would need to get a taxi or walk the remaining distance. Taxis are not always immediately available.

Security instructions
All visitors are required to check in and sign-in with the lobby officer. Valid government photo ID is required. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled hearing. Security Procedures All visitors to the immigration court must request a gate clearance with EOIR staff at least two business days prior to the hearing. Your request should include the respondent’s A#, each visitor's name, relation to the respondent, age and a contact phone number. Note: The Department of Corrections does not allow anyone under the age of 18 years old to attend an immigration hearing. A gate clearance must be approved by the appropriate NYSDOCCS staff. Visitors will undergo a security screening through a metal detector machine. Visitors may not bring any electronic devices into the facility; all electronic devices must be locked in your car or in a locker at the facility which requires a fee. Please contact Ulster Correctional Facility at 845-647-1670 prior to your visit for possible age restrictions and specific rules and regulations on what is permissible into the facility during your visit. Failure to obtain advance clearance may result in you not being allowed into the hearing. Please note that you will not be able to visit with the respondent.
