Commission narrative
The Eleventh Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance unanimously agrees by vote of 7-0, with two members absent and one vacancy on the Commission, that Judge Alexandra Robak MEETS PERFORMANCE STANDARDS .
Judge Robak presides over civil, criminal, misdemeanor and traffic cases in her courtroom. Judge Robak is the only judge handling county court cases in Fremont County. In her seven years of experience, she has improved the efficiencies of handling a busy docket which a 2024 study indicated was 50 percent higher than typically assigned to a fulltime Judge. Surveys also continue to show Judge Robak earning high marks from people appearing in her court. Judge Robak emphasizes that she wants people to feel they have been treated fairly in her court by assuring them the opportunity to be heard and by showing mutual respect. Judge Robak has made strides to meet goals she set for herself four years ago including improving the efficiency of motion and revocation hearings as well as making recovery court align with national standards. Judge Robak is keenly interested in positive outcomes for people taking part in Fremont County’s Treatment Court. She is also working to change the perception about jury duty. Judge Robak wants citizens to recognize that jury service is important, which is why she personally thanks every juror for their service. Based on these factors the Commission unanimously agreed that Judge Robak meets performance standards.
The Commission conducted a personal interview with Judge Robak, reviewed opinions she authored, observed her in court, reviewed comments received from interested parties during the evaluation, and reviewed surveys sent to attorneys and non-attorneys who had experience with Judge Robak. Of the attorneys responding to the survey, 67% answered “yes, meets performance standards”, 33% answered “no, does not meet performance standards”, and 0% had no opinion regarding whether Judge Robak meets or does not meet performance standards. Of non-attorneys responding to the survey, 96% answered, “yes, meets performance standards”, 4% answered “no, does not meet performance standards”, and 6% had no opinion regarding whether Judge Robak meets or does not meet performance standards. A total of three attorneys and twenty-five non-attorneys responded to the judicial performance surveys expressing their opinion of Judge Robak’s performance.
Judge Robak was appointed to the Fremont County Court bench in January 2019. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, and she graduated from Brooklyn Law School with a specialty in criminal law. Judge Robak worked for the Office of the State Public Defender in the 11th Judicial District prior to her appointment to the bench. She serves as the judicial officer on Fremont County's Recovery Court and the Competency Diversion Program (coming Summer 2026). When not on the bench, Judge Robak enjoys getting out into Colorado’s “Great Outdoors” with her husband and children.
