The Nineteenth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance finds, by vote of 8-0, with two commissioners absent, that the Judge Audrey A. Galloway MEETS PERFORMANCE STANDARDS .
Judge Galloway was evaluated on six criteria: integrity, legal knowledge, communication skills, judicial temperament, administrative performance, and service to the legal profession. Judge Galloway receives high marks from both surveys and court observations in all six areas.
The Commission conducted a personal interview with Judge Galloway, reviewed her written opinions, observed her in court, and reviewed survey responses from attorneys and non-attorneys who appeared before her, finding that she exceeded expectations during this 4-year term. The Commission found that she adeptly manages a busy docket, while ensuring that litigants feel heard and understand the legal proceedings in her court. She exhibits a balanced perspective and temperament, making fair decisions. Judge Galloway has good control over courtroom proceedings, while also treating those who appear before her with professionalism and respect. Feedback received describes her as an excellent legal writer, and credits her for her intelligent written decisions. Judge Galloway communicates clearly and has a welcoming demeanor.
Judge Galloway was appointed to the District Court bench in May 2024. Prior to this appointment, she served as the Juvenile Magistrate in the 19th Judicial District for five years. Judge Galloway worked in private practice handling estate planning, probate, and domestic relations cases from 2014-2019 and served as a Deputy District Attorney in Weld County from 2008-2014. She earned a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 2001 in Government and International Studies and a J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School in 2006.
