Carl Ezekiel Ross

Professional career

• After law school, Judge Ross served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable James R. Spencer of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
• In 2017, Judge Ross began serving as investigative counsel to the United States House of Representatives Committee on Ethics.
• As investigative counsel, Judge Ross led investigations into matters involving criminal and civil allegations of fraud, sexual harassment, impermissible financial transactions, disclosure of classified information, illegal campaign activity, improper use of congressional resources, and other matters.
• Judge Ross also handled a variety of pro bono cases, including landlord-tenant cases in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia in conjunction with the Legal Aid Society of D.C. In 2009, Judge Ross was sworn in as an Assistant United States Attorney (“AUSA”) in the District of Columbia U.S. Attorney’s Office’s Civil Division.

• Carl Ezekiel Ross was nominated by President Joseph R. Biden to be an Associate Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia on December 15, 2021.
