Gordan S. Vincent

Gordon S. Vincent was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in March 2026. Judge Vincent earned a Bachelor of Arts, with high distinction, in 1979 from the University of Virginia, and a Juris Doctor in 1983 from the University of Virginia Law School. From July 2006 to December 2024, he served as chief judge of the general district courts of Accomack and Northampton Counties on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Upon retirement from this position, from January 2025 to February 2026, he served as a substitute judge in multiple courts in Virginia. In 2023, Judge Vincent received the annual recognition award from the Association of District Court Judges of Virginia for a career of volunteer service to the judicial branch and teaching at the state’s school for new judges. From 1989 to June 2006, he was in private practice in Accomac, Virginia, first as a solo practitioner and later as a partner in Vincent, Northam & Lewis. From 1983 to 1989, he practiced law in Columbia, South Carolina. Judge Vincent is a member of the Virginia State Bar.
