Graciela M. Jiron

Graciela M. Jiron was appointed as an immigration judge to begin hearing cases in May 2026. Judge Jiron earned a Bachelor of Law and Political Sciences in 2000 from the Santa Maria La Antigua University Law School and a Master of Laws in 2001 from Tulane University Law School. From May 2015 to April 2026, she served as an assistant chief counsel with the Office of the Principal Legal Advisor, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), in El Paso, Texas. From September 2011 to May 2015, she served as a border patrol agent with Border Patrol, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, DHS, in Indio, California. From October 2001 to June 2009, she was in private practice working on immigration and personal injury matters in New Orleans. Judge Jiron is a member of the Louisiana State Bar.
