Professional career

• 20-year veteran of Alabama public service, serving as District Judge of Autauga County since January 16, 2023, presiding over juvenile, small claims, criminal, and civil cases
• She later served as Assistant Attorney General for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, as a legislative attorney in the Alabama Legislature, and as Assistant Attorney General and Government Affairs Director for the State Department of Education

Education

• Jessica Sanders grew up in the Wiregrass region of Alabama and graduated magna cum laude in political science from Faulkner University in Montgomery

Additional information

• After law school, she began as a prosecutor, working for over a decade as an Assistant District Attorney for Autauga, Elmore, and Chilton counties alongside Randall Houston
• Appointed by Governor Kay Ivey, Judge Sanders presides over
• She also serves on the Alabama Administrative Office of Courts Judicial Education Committee, chairs the Autauga County Children’s Policy Council, and is Treasurer for the Alabama Association of Juvenile and Family Court Judges
