All appearances in the part, including those for inquests and other hearings, are presumptively in-person. No litigant, attorney, or witness will be allowed to appear virtually, unless that individual has requested and received an ADA accommodation, or has expressly been given permission to appear virtually for a specific appearance by the Court.
Source page 1If a party is appearing via the Microsoft Teams application, they must remain muted or silent until addressed by the Court to avoid interrupting the judge while on the record. There is no need to inform the Court of your arrival. The judge or court personnel will address all parties admitted from the virtual waiting room.

Please note that the Room 402 email address is not regularly monitored for communications from non-Court personnel, and emails sent there may not be seen in a timely fashion.
Source page 1Requests for adjournments due to unavailability or actual engagement should be made by affidavits and/or affirmations of unavailability filed with the Court.
Source page 1Court approval shall be required for all adjournments. Adjournments which are on consent of the parties should be memorialized in stipulations which designate the return date and time, and the reason for seeking the adjournment. Parties are advised to consult with Court personnel before selecting the date and time for the adjournment. Unavailable or unapproved dates will be rejected or changed by the Court. Stipulations should also state whether the adjournment is to be marked for trial or hearing on the return date when applicable.
Source page 2When adjourning with a motion practice schedule, all motions shall be fully briefed and filed at least seven (7) days prior to the return date.
Source page 2Motions seeking the entry of a judgment and/or issuance of a warrant on default must include a sworn statement, by an individual with personal knowledge, of whether Petitioner is aware of an application for rental assistance with the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) where a determination of eligibility or appeal is pending for the tenant of record or any occupant of the household. See also DRP-224.
