Biography
Professional career
- In 2010, she was selected as a part-time Associate Magistrate Judge in DeKalb County, later becoming Supervising Judge for Magistrate Court in 2016
- In 2007, she co-founded Ashby & Polk, LLC, practicing in areas including family violence, housing, consumer law, public benefits, disability, wills, trusts, estate planning, guardianship, probate, elder law, divorce, custody, legitimation, and child support Judge Polk also held the role of a Guardian Ad Litem in domestic relations cases, an Ombudsman in bankruptcy cases involving patient care, and a Hearing Officer in public housing informal review hearings.
- Judge Polk has also established several Access to Justice programs to assist the public

- Began her legal career at the Hamilton County Public Defender’s Office and then joined the Atlanta Legal Aid Society (ALAS), where she worked for over eight years as a fellow, staff attorney, and supervising attorney.
