Professional career
- Adjunct Professor — Weber State University since 2007, teaching in Criminal Justice and Master of Nursing programs
- Prior to his appointment on the bench, Judge Westmoreland worked as a prosecutor for the Davis County Attorney's Office since 2004 where he served in several capacities, including Specialty Court Division Chief, Davis Metro Narcotics Strike Force prosecutor, Drug Court prosecutor, Special Victims prosecutor, as well as in the Juvenile Court and a felony caseload in the District Court
- As of 2026, Judge Westmoreland is also listed as a candidate for re-election as Judge of the Juvenile Court, Second Juvenile Court District in Utah’s November 3, 2026 general election
- Appointed by Governor Spencer J. Cox on June 24, 2022, to Utah’s Second District Juvenile Court, serving Davis, Morgan and Weber counties, to fill Judge Michelle Heward’s vacancy

Recording and broadcasting

Utah prohibits recording, photographing, or transmitting images or sound of court proceedings with portable electronic devices unless allowed under the electronic-media rule or another stated exception.
